Ensign, ‘The Mystery of Life,’ October 1983 “There is no way to make sense out of life without a knowledge of the doctrine of premortal life. The idea that mortal birth is the beginning is preposterous. There is no way to explain life if you believe that. The notion that life ends with mortal death is ridiculous. There is no way to face life if you believe that. When we understand the doctrine of premortal life, then things fit together and make sense. We then know that little boys and little girls are not monkeys, nor are their parents, nor were theirs, to the very beginning generation. We are the children of God, created in his image. Our child-parent relationship to God is clear. The purpose for the creation of this earth is clear. The testing that comes in mortality is clear. The need for a redeemer is clear. When we do understand that principle of the gospel, we see a Heavenly Father and a Son; we see an atonement and a redemption. We understand why ordinances and covenants are necessary. We understand the necessity for baptism by immersion for the remission of sins. We understand why we renew that covenant by partaking of the sacrament. I have but touched upon the doctrine of premortal life. We cannot, in these brief conference talks, do more than that. Oh, if we but had a day, or even an hour, to speak of it.” — Boyd K. Packer (more…)

Brigham’s Blasphemous Contradictions on Man’s Existence
Posted in pre-existence, tagged Brigham Young, creation of man, false prophet, Journal of Discourses, pre-existence on 08/28/2019| 1 Comment »
Today we’re looking at a couple of sermons Brigham delivered over a 4 month period of time. I noticed the discrepancies while working on another project several months ago.
Journal of Discourses 4:54 “We are of the earth, earthy; and our Father is heavenly and pure. But we will be glorified and purified, if we obey our brethren and the teachings which are given.” — Brigham Young, Great Salt Lake City, September 21, 1856
- 1 Corinthians 15:47 ‘The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.’
- Romans 8:30 “Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”

LDS Pre-Existence: Men Chose to be Agents unto Themselves

The Gospel through the Ages 16 “INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES … Among the spirits assembled at that great council there were no two exactly alike. Some were more intelligent, more daring, more obedient than others. … …it was but natural for a difference of opinion to develop over the two proposed plans of salvation.
Lucifer vigorously campaigned for his plan, which was in opposition to the original Gospel pattern. His proposition, however, appealed to many of God’s children, especially to the unadventurous ones. For them victory and salvation seemed to be assured if they followed Lucifer.
…the great majority of the progressive spirits…welcomed a world that offered real adventure and constant danger, where they could be agents unto themselves to cooperate with God in a great social scheme of learning and living truth—….” — Milton R. Hunter, 1945 [emp. added] (more…)
Fighting with Our Testimonies in Pre-existence

General Conference, ‘Trust in the Lord and Lean Not,’ April 2017 “Remember, in our premortal life we stood with the Savior. We trusted Him. We voiced our support, enthusiasm, and joy for the plan of happiness set forth by our Heavenly Father. We leaned not. We fought with our testimonies and “aligned ourselves with the forces of God, and those forces were victorious.” This battle between good and evil has moved to earth. Once again we have the sacred responsibility to stand as a witness and put our trust in the Lord.” — Bonnie H. Cordon, Young Women’s President (more…)
Adulterating Jesus for Self-Adulation

Journal of Discourses 26:186 – 187 “If it were possible for the Lord Jesus to descend from the mansions of glory and take possession of a mortal tabernacle, and be born of a woman in the shape of an infant, is it not equally possible that we all did the same? …
The Bible proves to us that Jesus existed with the Father, and that He descended from His high estate in the regions of glory to become a mortal man…Now, is there anything difficult or incomprehensible in the thought, that we all in like manner, existed with the Father, and with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, before we came here? ” – George Q. Cannon, Salt Lake City, September 28th, 1884 (more…)

Isaiah 44:24; “Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, And he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; That stretcheth forth the heavens alone; That spreadeth abroad the earth by myself.”
General Conference, ‘Making Righteous Choices at the Crossroads of Life,’ October 1988
“Indeed, you and I have a plan to guide us in our lives—the eternal plan that was given to us in the premortal world and that will bring us back into the presence of our Heavenly Father.” – Robert D. Hales
Family and Heavenly Councils

Psalm 75:6-7; “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”
Today we’re looking at the Sovereignty of God!
As a Mormon I had never heard of such a thing, and always believed I was in heaven with God and everyone else before the world was created. This for me, was one of the most shocking discoveries when I left Mormonism.
This is why we’re looking at Mr. Ballard’s talk. All the claims he made here are lies.
General Conference, ‘Family Councils,’ Saturday Afternoon Session, April 2, 2016; “Family councils have always been needed. They are, in fact, eternal. We belonged to a family council in the premortal existence, when we lived with our heavenly parents as their spirit children. …
Spirit of Man Contaminated Upon Birth

The Seer, “The Pre-existence of Man,” Vol. 1, No. 7, July, 1853, p. 98; “Spirits, though pure and innocent, before they entered the body, would become contaminated by entering a fallen tabernacle; not contaminated by their own sins, but by their connection with a body brought into the world by the fall, earthly, fallen, imperfect, and corrupt in its nature. A spirit, having entered such a tabernacle, though it may commit no personal sin, is unfit to return again into the presence of a holy Being. . .” – Orson Pratt, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
