The Gospel through the Ages 16 “INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES … Among the spirits assembled at that great council there were no two exactly alike. Some were more intelligent, more daring, more obedient than others. … …it was but natural for a difference of opinion to develop over the two proposed plans of salvation.
Lucifer vigorously campaigned for his plan, which was in opposition to the original Gospel pattern. His proposition, however, appealed to many of God’s children, especially to the unadventurous ones. For them victory and salvation seemed to be assured if they followed Lucifer.
…the great majority of the progressive spirits…welcomed a world that offered real adventure and constant danger, where they could be agents unto themselves to cooperate with God in a great social scheme of learning and living truth—….” — Milton R. Hunter, 1945 [emp. added]
1 Corinthians 2:14 “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
After 25+ years in ministry, Mr. Hunter’s book is still in my top five of ‘worst books’ written by the Church. The others are Life Before, Mormon Doctrine, Miracle of Forgiveness, and Angel Children.
As you can see from the excerpt above, the word blasphemy doesn’t do justice to his diatribe. Being an ‘agent unto yourself’ can only mean you’ve flat out rejected the Lord, and refused to place yourself under His authority. Moreover, if that wasn’t bad enough he also qualified himself as a false teacher.
False teachers all have one thing in common, and in many ways are more dangerous than others. They obscure the true nature of God by painting a false picture of Him, and placing it upon the person/thing they’ve chosen to worship.
Idolaters aren’t as subtle, hence the greater danger of false teachers.
As a member of the ‘Seventy’ Mr. Hunter served in several church positions throughout his life until his death in 1975. His blatant disregard for biblical truth about our Lord is painfully obvious.
Although Hunter’s book was published in 1945, the teachings he expounded upon are still very much a vital part of everyday Mormonism. They still believe they lived with God before being born here on earth. They still believe Satan and Jesus are brothers, and they still refuse God’s authority to run their lives.
Pray for these dear people who’ve made no secret about their rejection of the true Jesus. They might look good on the outside, but the truth is worse than anyone could ever imagine.
With Love in Christ;

. If Mormons were to read Isaiah 14:12-15, they would know exactly why Lucifer was cast out of Heaven. In verse #13 alone, Lucifer says “I WILL” five different times. He said “I WILL” because he was full of Pride. He didn’t get kicked out of heaven over some disagreement he had with Jesus over the Plan of Salvation. Satan is the author of pride.
Bottom line, read your Bibles. DO NOT RELY ON THE WORDS OF OTHERS TO TELL YOU ANYTHING REGARDING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. The Bible will tell you anything and everything you need to know
:But there will be some that will trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ..But if we or any angel preach another gospel to you other than what we have preached, let him be accursed (Galatians 1:7,8
One of the things I use to prove Smith was telling stories vs speaking from revelation is the name “Lucifer.” It was never Satan’s name! He got the name from the KJV which was just a borrowed word from the Vulgate because they really didn’t understand the Hebrew.
