Essential Truths—Our Need to Act “Just imagine how blessed we are to know that God is a being with a body of flesh and bones as tangible as ours, that we can worship a God who is real, whom we can understand, and who has shown and revealed Himself and His Son to His prophets—both prophets of old and prophets in these latter days. He is a God who hears and answers our prayers; a God who watches us from heaven above and is constantly concerned about our spiritual and temporal well-being; a God who gives us agency to decide for ourselves to follow Him and obey His commandments without coercion; a God who gives us blessings and allows us to face trials so we can grow and become like Him.” — Adilson de Paula Parrella (more…)

‘To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.’ Acts 26:18
The Bible verse above is our prayer for the Mormon people.
Today we’re looking at 3 quotes, and all have exhibited treacherous teachings. Each is a good summation of what they said in the talk they gave. To read their talks in full, click on corresponding links provided below.
Our main agenda with posting these things is to inform Mormons, and non-Mormons alike.
Please, pray for those who listened to these lies, and also for those who spread them. As we’ve been saying this week, if they’d turn to the Lord, they’d obviously turn from spreading lies about Him!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle

‘…upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’ Matthew 16:18
Today we’re looking at two quotes from a couple of talks given by two women at General Conference a few days ago.
The two women are Lisa Harkness, and Michelle Craig. To read their talks in full, see links in the article for each.
As a heads up, the numbering system we’ve used doesn’t reflect the order talks were given at the conference.
We’re praying our Christian friends will stop to pray for those who gave the talks, and those who heard their blasphemy. It’s obvious those in charge are just as confused as ever.
At the end, everyone must answer the question Whom Will You Follow? Will it be Jesus, or Joseph?

Isaiah 61:1-2c “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 …to comfort all that mourn”.
John 8:31-32 “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

LDS Tithing Contradictions

‘Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.’ 2 Corinthians 9:7
Ensign, ‘Concerning Tithing,’ June 1980
“First Presidency Message
Marion G. Romney
Second Counselor in the First Presidency
A Legal Obligation to the Lord
…tithing is a debt which everyone owes to the Lord as rent for using the things that the Lord has made and given to him to use. The Lord, to whom one owes tithing, is in a position of a preferred creditor. If there is not enough to pay all creditors, he should be paid first. You may be a little shocked by this statement, but it is true. …Protection Against the Burning
The payment of tithing is also worthwhile as fire insurance. …
“For after today cometh the burning … for verily I say, tomorrow all the proud and they that do wickedly shall be as stubble; and I will burn them up, for I am the Lord of Hosts; and I will not spare any that remain in Babylon…(D&C 64:23–25). … it will be a wonderful thing to have a record that you can rely upon to give you a place in the presence of our Father in Heaven with the righteous of all ages. This you can earn by observing faithfully day by day, and year by year, the law of tithing and the other requirements of the gospel of Jesus Christ.” [emp. added] (more…)
LDS Hides Past Contradictions in Youth Magazine

There’s nothing in an article from the June Liahona to alert the unknowing the entire thing is filled with contradictions and lies. While the same can be said of everything in Mormonism, this particular article seemed to go out its way to be the poster child of deceit.
The article in question is ‘People of Galilee’. It listed 11 people from Jesus’ day and wants readers to imagine how these 11 people would’ve reacted to the miracles He performed. It’s quite surprising the Church would use so many examples from the Bible, and do so as a way of placing the Lord in a good light. Typically they briefly use His name, and activities to bolster the reason for their heretical doctrines.
Let me preface all that by stating I’ve never heard of the author (Breanna Call Herbert), and my heart hurts for her. I obviously don’t know if she’s aware of what she’s done, but be that as it may, the damage is done. (more…)
LDS: Right to Know Truth Means Don’t Find Fault, or Question Leaders

Our LDS reference today has brought me to my knees each time I read it. It came from a book written by Wayne and Leslee Boss, located in the Gospelink Program. You can also buy it online.
Are My Children Going to Make It? Real Help for Teaching the Gospel in the Home [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1991], ix, 63-64 “The purpose of this book is to provide parents with ideas about ways to both simply and enjoyably teach their children the gospel.
…The Prophet Joseph said that a prophet is only a prophet when he’s acting as such. How do you know whether the President of the Church is speaking as a prophet or as just a man?
“Son, I’ve found that if you apply two simple tests, you’ll never be deceived. First, the statement will be consistent with what’s taught in the scriptures. Second, the Spirit will bear witness to you that the doctrine is true. You have the right to receive a spiritual witness from the Lord about the truthfulness of any doctrine taught, regardless of the source. These are just two of the safeguards the Lord has prepared against deception.” …
When the prophet of the Lord speaks, children have a right to know that he is speaking for and in behalf of their Heavenly Father. That means that neither parents nor their children should ever find fault with the Lord’s prophet. …
Thus, parents who find fault with their leaders place themselves and their children in a very dangerous position. As Dallin H. Oaks explained, “The primary reason we are commanded to avoid criticism is to preserve our own spiritual well-being, not to protect the person whom we would criticize. (7)”” — R. Wayne Boss and Leslee S. Boss (more…)

“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.”
My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
While gathering notes for this article I was listening to praise music, and the song listed above repeated itself. It obviously caught my attention, thus its inclusion here!
The hymn serves as a good reminder of how we’re incapable of fulfilling God’s requirements for salvation! This upcoming holiday is an ever present reminder of how grateful I am for His mercy upon me.
Today we’re looking at three talks, and providing short quotes from each. Sadly, the quotes earned a place in our next installment, ‘Worst of the Worst’ list. Sigh…
Please note the numbering system we’ve used here is purely ours, and doesn’t reflect which order their talks were given.

Couples in a same-gender marriage would also cease to be subject to automatic disciplinary action. “While we still consider such a marriage to be a serious transgression,” a church news release states, “it will not be treated as apostasy for purposes of church discipline. An article in the March issue of Ensign gave members a laundry list of mandates for true salvation. Their list of manmade works for salvation served as a stark reminder for us as Christians to always be on our knees for these dear people!

We lift others even though, at times, we may need lifting ourselves. We have faith and stand as witnesses of God. We have patience and are kind.
