June 21 — We Declare His Death as Our Life. 1 Corinthians 11:24-27 “And when he had given thanks, he brake [it], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink [this] cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.” (more…)

ChurchNews.com “The Church is more than its buildings and ecclesiastical structure; the Church is the members, … with Christ at the head and the Prophet as His mouthpiece.”

Belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ is a privilege, “where members can unite their faith, hearts, strengths, minds and hands for Him to perform His mighty miracles.

Followers of Christ are striving to become of “one heart and one mind,” and to become like Him.

Even the smallest efforts make a significant difference in God’s kingdom. “Our purpose in His kingdom should be to bring each other to Christ. And as Christ’s Church, the members are the means through which the Savior will perform some of His mightiest works before He comes again.” — Reyna I. Aburto (more…)

‘How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?’ Hebrews 9:14

Today we’re looking at part of a talk given by LDS General Authority, Dennis B. Neuenschwander.

I came across this man’s talk a few weeks back and it reminded me of Masonry and the book Alice in Wonderland. There were a lot of nonsensical statements shrouded in circular reasoning. To read his talk in full see link provided below.

Ensign, ‘Ordinances and Covenants’, August 2001 “A Way to Know God …

First, through personal participation in sacred gospel ordinances we come to know God. I refer to the 84th section of the Doctrine and Covenants, in which we read:

And this greater priesthood administereth the gospel and holdeth the key of the mysteries of the kingdom, even the key of the knowledge of God. …in the ordinances thereof, the power of godliness is manifest. … Second, sacred gospel ordinances are the gateway to solemn covenants with God. Ordinances and covenants can hardly be understood apart from each other. By ordinances we enter into covenants, and by covenants we receive the ordinances.

Though there may be ordinances that do not have an associated covenant—…—there is no eternal covenant that is not connected to an ordinance.” — Dennis B. Neuenschwander (more…)

The Church News “Because of the Savior, all will be resurrected. He has also made it possible for all to be reunited as families and have eternal joy in God’s presence if they make and keep covenants with Him.

As President Russell M. Nelson has taught: “Death is a necessary component of our eternal existence. … For sorrowing loved ones left behind … the sting of death is soothed by a steadfast faith in Christ, a perfect brightness of hope, a love of God and of all men, and a deep desire to serve them.” — Reyna Isabel Aburto (more…)

New Era, ‘The Greatness of Joseph Smith and His Remarkable Visions,’ December 1973 “Adam was the first member of the church of Christ on the earth and the first high priest after the order of the Son of God. In the commission he received from God, Adam was given the keys to administer the divine plan of salvation to others, including all his children to the very latest generation of time. It is through Adam’s authority that any revelation pertaining to the gospel of Christ was or shall be revealed.

The Prophet Joseph said:

“Adam holds the keys of the dispensation of the fulness of times; i.e., the dispensation of all the times that have been and will be revealed through him from the beginning to Christ, and from Christ to the end of the dispensations that are to be revealed.” (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith [Deseret Book Co.: 1961], pp. 167–68.)

At the age of 14 this boy exercised such great faith that he was given the privilege of beholding the greatest vision ever recorded in the annals of scripture. … Can you now begin to see the greatness of Joseph Smith’s mission? Each of these prophets may have held only a few keys of the gospel. Now he was receiving all the keys that had ever been on the earth.” — Jerry C. Roundy (more…)

Essential Truths—Our Need to Act “Just imagine how blessed we are to know that God is a being with a body of flesh and bones as tangible as ours, that we can worship a God who is real, whom we can understand, and who has shown and revealed Himself and His Son to His prophets—both prophets of old and prophets in these latter days. He is a God who hears and answers our prayers; a God who watches us from heaven above and is constantly concerned about our spiritual and temporal well-being; a God who gives us agency to decide for ourselves to follow Him and obey His commandments without coercion; a God who gives us blessings and allows us to face trials so we can grow and become like Him.” — Adilson de Paula Parrella (more…)
