June 21 — We Declare His Death as Our Life. 1 Corinthians 11:24-27 “And when he had given thanks, he brake [it], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink [this] cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.”

The institution of communion is a holy event for members of the Christian body. It was instituted as a means for believers to come together, and remember what Jesus had done for us. As Matthew Henry said, ‘We declare his death to be our life…’.
Teaching that communion (sacrament for LDS) ‘becomes the companionship of God’s Holy Spirit’ is blatantly false beloved! If you don’t have God’s Holy Spirit residing inside of you, you shouldn’t be taking communion. The LDS reference below makes communion sound like a magic trick being performed.
Be sure to explain to a Mormon you know why Christians take communion!

Ensign, The Sacrament, May 1983, 14 “The sacrament is one ordinance that allows us to experience a personal relationship to God and enlarges our knowledge and understanding of Him and His Only Begotten Son. Our personal reward for compliance with the covenants and obligations in the ordinance of the sacrament becomes the companionship of God’s Holy Spirit. This is the light that leads to eternal life.” — David B. Haight

And to think believers have been doing it wrong all this time.
So…it’s when you break out the “Wonder bread” and water….then Abracadabra! The holy ghost appears 🪄🎩🐰… guess it’s called “Wonder bread” for a reason.
I had never thought of it that way until now. Sadly your description is spot on. 🙁
