December 20 – The Father’s Full and Perfect Provision. Zechariah 12:10c; “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn”
John 1:11; “He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”

‘For we are his workmanship…’ Ephesians 2:10
A few days ago Melissa told me about a post on a Facebook page that reminded me of what it’s like for members of the LDS Church. The post was a quote from a speech by Thomas Monson who was giving pointers on how to be perfect, and a Mormon scripture from 3 Nephi 12:48.
“Our goal is to achieve, to excel, to strive for perfection. Remember, however, that our business in life is not to get ahead of others but to get ahead of ourselves. To break our own record, to outstrip our yesterdays by today, to bear our trials more beautifully than we ever dreamed we could, to give as we never have given, to do our work with more force and a finer finish than ever—this is the true objective.”
Most Important Goal: Tithing and Temple Worthiness

General Conference, ‘The Holy Temple A Beacon to the World,’ April 2011 “If you have not yet been to the temple or if you have been but currently do not qualify for a recommend, there is no more important goal for you to work toward than being worthy to go to the temple. Your sacrifice may be bringing your life into compliance with what is required to receive a recommend, perhaps by forsaking long-held habits which disqualify you. It may be having the faith and the discipline to pay your tithing. Whatever it is, qualify to enter the temple of God. Secure a temple recommend and regard it as a precious possession, for such it is.
Until you have entered the house of the Lord and have received all the blessings which await you there, you have not obtained everything the Church has to offer. The all-important and crowning blessings of membership in the Church are those blessings which we receive in the temples of God.” — Thomas Monson [emp. added] (more…)
LDS: Hang Temple Picture in Every Bedroom
Posted in General Conference April 2011, tagged General Conference April 2011, picture of temple in every bedroom, Spencer Kimball, Thomas Monson on 07/28/2019| 1 Comment »
Today’s post comes courtesy of another meme I found online this week. Ha, ‘lucky’ us!
The meme was a pretty picture of a Mormon temple with a partial quote from Spencer Kimball. After searching around, I saw that Thomas Monson quoted Mr. Kimball’s words at the April 2011 General Conference.
What’s bothersome about this teaching is the subtlety of their brainwashing techniques they’ve employed.
General Conference, ‘The Holy Temple A Beacon to the World,’ April 2011 “To you parents of young children, may I share with you some sage advice from President Spencer W. Kimball. Said he: “It would be a fine thing if … parents would have in every bedroom in their house a picture of the temple so [their children] from the time [they are] infant[s] could look at the picture every day [until] it becomes a part of [their lives]. When [they reach] the age that [they need] to make [the] very important decision [concerning going to the temple], it will have already been made.” — Thomas Monson (more…)
LDS to Youth: Reject Doubts, Facts and Science to Stay in Church

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1
Ensign, ‘The Lighthouse of the Lord: A Message to the Youth of the Church,’ February 2001 “…Should doubt knock at your doorway, just say to those skeptical, disturbing, rebellious thoughts: “I propose to stay with my faith, with the faith of my people. I know that happiness and contentment are there, and I forbid you, agnostic, doubting thoughts, to destroy the house of my faith. I acknowledge that I do not understand the processes of creation, but I accept the fact of it. I grant that I cannot explain the miracles of the Bible, and I do not attempt to do so, but I accept God’s word. I wasn’t with Joseph, but I believe him. My faith did not come to me through science, and I will not permit so-called science to destroy it.” – Thomas Monson (more…)

2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”.
Ensign, ‘The Lighthouse of the Lord: A Message to the Youth of the Church,’ February 2001 “…associate with those who, like us, are planning not for temporary convenience, shallow goals, or narrow ambition–but rather with those who value the things that matter most, even eternal objectives. … Let us remember that the wisdom of God may appear as foolishness to men, but the greatest single lesson we can learn in mortality is that when God speaks and we obey, we will always be right. … The writer of the book of Ecclesiastes also wrote… “The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong,” but to those who endure to the end…” – Thomas Monson [emp. mine] (more…)

Mormon Paid Clergy Lies

1 Timothy 5:17-18; “Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. 18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.”
It would only stand to reason when you knowingly lie, some type of inner mechanism would kick in, alerting you to be on guard.
What most people would experience, aka shame, doesn’t seem to be a problem for LDS hierarchy.
The lies they unabashedly tell are a wonder indeed, and not in a good way. Not only is the lack of shame not a problem, they seem to believe no one will ever rat them out.
What I discovered the other day proves you shouldn’t trust that theory!
While looking for a reference of an LDS quote, I found an eye-opening document someone ‘in the know’ posted online at Reddit. It serves as the quintessential proof how Mormon leaders don’t bat an eye when they lie about themselves, and/or the Church.
The Calling of a Mormon Prophet

Micah 4:5; “For all people will walk everyone in the name of his god, And we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever.”
With the advent of a new Mormon prophet being called into office, we thought we’d look at how the Church does this, and compare it to what the Bible says.
We’re on our knees praying the Mormon people will take heed of the declaration in Micah and denounce the false gods they’ve embraced!
According to the Church’s website, a new prophet isn’t actually chosen in the way you, or I, might think. The next prophet simply takes his new job based on seniority. The apostle that’s been in office the longest is next in line.

Acts 17:24-27; “God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us”.
While reading over various sites about the Church’s latest temple opening, this time in Meridian, Idaho, two items I came across gave me pause…
One came from the MormonNewsRoom with a comment made by Dieter Uchtdorf during the dedication –
““The Lord has decided through his living prophet, even President Monson to put a house of the Lord in this place,” said President Uchtdorf. Speaking of President Thomas S. Monson, he said, “He is aware what is happening here and is grateful for your prayers and your participation in this marvelous and wonderful work.” …Plans to build the temple were announced by President Thomas S. Monson in April 2011….”

Can Mormons Truly Love God While Rejecting Christianity?

1 John 4:20; “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”
Our question today stems from a post I read on the Church’s LDS Media Library site on February 7, 2017. A caption under the headline reads –
“We cannot truly love God if we do not love our fellow travelers on this mortal journey.” —President Thomas S. Monson, “Love—the Essence of the Gospel”

Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
LDS.org, ‘Conference Notebook,’ October 2016
“The Plan of Salvation … Essential to the plan [of salvation] is our Savior, Jesus Christ. Without His atoning sacrifice, all would be lost. It is not enough, however, merely to believe in Him and His mission. We need to work and learn, search and pray, repent and improve. We need to know God’s laws and live them. We need to receive His saving ordinances. Only by so doing will we obtain true, eternal happiness.” – Thomas S. Monson, “The Perfect Path to Happiness,” Ensign, Nov. 2016, 80–81.
