“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?” 1 Kings 8:27

ChurchNews.com “…President Nelson’s conference talk summary…  It is significant that when Jesus Christ appeared to the inhabitants of the American continent,1 He chose to appear to the people at the temple. The temple is His house. It is filled with His power.2

Let us never lose sight of what the Lord is doing for us. He is making His temples more accessible. He is accelerating the pace at which we are building temples.3 He is increasing our ability to help gather Israel. He is also making it easier for each of us to become spiritually refined.4 (more…)

‘Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.’ Acts 4:12

ChurchNews.com “One simple way to get to know someone is by learning their name. … “Jesus wants for us to know Him because His is the only name under heaven whereby we can be saved. … My earnest desire is that you will come to know Jesus Christ by His many names and that you will become like Him as you exemplify His divine attributes in your life.”” Jonathan Schmitt (more…)

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.” Acts 10:34-35

General Conference, ‘The Doctrine of Belonging,’ October 2022 “How blessed we are to see the day that Zion is being established simultaneously on every continent and in our own neighborhoods. As the Prophet Joseph Smith said, the people of God in every age have looked forward with joyful anticipation to this day, and “we are the favored people that God has made choice of to bring about the Latter-day glory.”

‘Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.’ Ephesians 5:17

In the opening talk at General Conference LDS prophet Russell Nelson urged members to overcome the world. It almost sounds biblical but there’s a problem with Nelson’s remarks.

1 John 5:4 tells us that everyone who believes overcomes the world but Mormonism rejects true Christianity and doesn’t trust the Bible.

‘For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.’

Although Jesus told us not to fear because He overcame the world in John 16:33, Mormonism has disavowed the Jesus of the Bible so they can’t rely upon that either. (more…)

‘For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.’ 1 Corinthians 1:18

Now that conference is in our rearview mirror, we’re taking a look at some of the things LDS leaders announced. We’re beginning our look with one of the last talks which was given by Jeffrey Holland.

What caught my attention about this talk was the subject matter. Mr. Holland decided to explain why they don’t use the cross as a symbol of their faith. His reason was the same thing they’ve said in the past but he said nothing about the Moroni statue or the new Christus statue they proudly emphasized in April 2020 General Conference. (more…)
