‘Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.’ Ephesians 5:17
In the opening talk at General Conference LDS prophet Russell Nelson urged members to overcome the world. It almost sounds biblical but there’s a problem with Nelson’s remarks.
1 John 5:4 tells us that everyone who believes overcomes the world but Mormonism rejects true Christianity and doesn’t trust the Bible.
‘For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.’
Although Jesus told us not to fear because He overcame the world in John 16:33, Mormonism has disavowed the Jesus of the Bible so they can’t rely upon that either.
Another problem in Mr. Nelson’s talk is the truth behind his statement about abuse. According to SLTrib.com here’s what he had to say or rather, what he didn’t have to say —
“On Saturday, Nelson reiterated the church’s position that it has long opposed abuse and has established guidelines for dealing with such behavior.
“For decades now, the church has taken extensive measures to protect — in particular — children from abuse” he said. “There are many aids on the church website. I invite you to study them. These guidelines are in place to protect the innocent.”
Notably, he did not mention the so-called abuse help line, staffed by lawyers for the church.”
Of course the Church’s true colors have shone forth once again. It’s okay to voice a problem as long as you keep it to yourself.
The only difference we saw in this conference compared to the last one is the date.
Please, pray with us that those who listened to their prophet and the others will disregard the uninspired talks delivered this past weekend.
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
