When Did Baptisms Begin?

Articles of Faith, p. 123 “The Establishment of Baptism dates from the time of the earliest history of the race. When the Lord manifested Himself to Adam after the expulsion from the Garden of Eden, He promised the patriarch of the race: “If thou wilt turn unto me, and hearken unto my voice, and believe, and repent of all thy transgressions, and be baptized, even in water, in the name of mine Only Begotten Son…ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost…” (more…)

Ensign, ‘In the Beginning,’ January 1998 “[A] man and his wife when glorified will have spirit children who eventually will go on an earth like this one we are on and pass through the same kind of experiences, being subject to mortal conditions, and if faithful, then they also will receive the fullness of exaltation and partake of the same blessings. There is no end to this development; it will go on forever. We will become Gods and have jurisdiction over worlds, and these worlds will be peopled by our own offspring.” — Robert Woodford See also: Doctrines of the Gospel Student Manual (1986); see also Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation 2:48 (1955) (more…)

Conference Report, April 1930, p. 97 “HELL HATH BOTH ENTRANCE AND EXIT During this hundred years many other great truths not known before, have been declared to the people, and one of the greatest is that to hell there is an exit as well as an entrance.

Hell is no place to which a vindictive judge sends prisoners to suffer and to be punished principally for his glory; but it is a place prepared for the teaching, the disciplining of those who failed to learn here upon the earth what they should have learned. … No man will be kept in hell longer than is necessary to bring him to a fitness for something better. When he reaches that stage the prison doors will open and there will be rejoicing among the hosts who welcome him into a better state.” – James E. Talmage (more…)

The following three LDS references show why Mormonism is not a Christian organization. Two of the quotes below are twisted plagiarisms of God’s word, and the third is a brazen contradiction of what Jesus proclaimed during His earthly ministry. (more…)

Acts 8:14-17; “Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Exodus 15:11; “Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?”

Articles of Faith, p. 42; “God is not omnipresent…cannot be physically mormon-council-heavenpresent in more than one place at a time … If God possesses a form, that form is of necessity of definite proportions, and therefore of limited extension and space. It is impossible for Him to occupy at one time more than one space of such limits.” – James Talmage

Isaiah 40:8; “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

Bibles10As promised, here are some of the outrageous things LDS Authorities have said about various subject matters, and today we’re looking at how the Mormon Church regards the Holy Bible.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how these men arbitrarily make the comments they do, and not feel any shame. Whenever I read their blasphemous statements my mind goes back to when I was a child, and believing everything that came out of my leaders’ mouths. I distinctly recall being told time and again, to read my Bible, and trust in Jesus. I truly believed them and did just as they directed me to do!

Sin OfferingLeviticus 16:15-17; “Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat: 16 And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness. 17 And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.”

Hebrews 9:7-14; “But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: 8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: 9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. 11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
