September 19 — House of the Lord, p. 102 “Under the teachings of the Church, marriage is the duty of all who are not debarred by physical or other effective disability from assuming the responsibilities of the wedded state. The Latter-day Saints declare that part of the birthright of every worthy man is to stand at the head of a family as husband and father; and equally strong is the right of every worthy woman to be an honored wife and mother.” – James Talmage

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

At the end of my days in Mormonism I found myself begging God to send me to hell if it meant I had to be eternally pregnant. I just couldn’t imagine having to be pregnant even one more time. I was 29 years old and from the time I was 18 until that time I had been pregnant six times. I was exhausted; mentally, physically and emotionally.
Although I hadn’t been active in the Church for several years, I still held onto the dreaded LDS theory that my self-worth was found in having kids.
Secretly however the only thing I wanted was Jesus and after two solid years of studying Mormon writings in-depth and comparing those with my Bible it became clear to me what I really needed to do.
I soon learned like all ex-Mormons do that the teachings of the Church are false and in no way reflect the teachings or the Jesus of the Bible.
If you’re LDS what are your thoughts? Do you ever get tired of all the mandates to ensure you’ve done enough?
Do we go to heaven based on the merits of Jesus or through our own works coupled with what Mr. Petersen said? I sincerely pray you know it’s because of Jesus.
You can’t be pregnant enough times or hold countless positions in the LDS priesthood to edge your way into the presence of the Lord. Those aren’t my words but the Lord’s. Here’s what He said in Hebrews 9:14 —
“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
With Love in Christ —

[…] Marriage and Childbirth Mandatory for Salvation – James Talmage […]
Glad we don’t follow their rules. God is great. Prayers for all mormons. We dont need a husband or kids to be saved. Only Jesus.

I pray that ALL Mormons would know this!
