Jesus’ Violent Death. Zechariah 13:7b; “Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.”
Matthew 27:35; “And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.”

A violent death … Reading Zechariah leaves us as believers in awe of God. Preserving His word is just one of the amazing feats He’s performed for us and we’re the grateful recipients of His tender care. While not specifically mentioned in this verse, we know from vs. 12 that Jesus would be pierced. Crucifixion wasn’t a means of death in the Roman Empire until the 1st or 2nd century BC so this passage in Zechariah is incredibly significant in pointing directly to the Lamb of God being sacrificed for man long before this method of execution had been in practice.
Ask a Mormon what they think of this, and if they accept Zechariah’s prophecy about Jesus. They either have to accept Zechariah’s words, or reject them. If they accept them it means they have to denounce the teachings of Mormonism, and the worship of Ba’al.

“Jesus Christ was both mortal and divine, being the Only Begotten Son of God, with a body of flesh and bone. He and His Father are one in purpose, but They are two separate beings.
The Only Begotten Son was born to the virgin Mary, and He fulfilled ancient prophecies and covenants between God and His people.” – LDS.org

Jesus is mortal and divine??? Is that even possible?
