September 15 – Mark 12:23-25 “In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife. And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.”

Jesus made it clear about marriages in heaven. Hmm…maybe He knew this would be an issue with the Mormons?!
They will tell you that this meant the woman wasn’t married in the temple, therefore, negating her chances of being married in heaven for eternity.

“If the family unit continues, then by virtue of that fact the members of the family have gained eternal life (exaltation), the greatest of all the gifts of God, for by definition exaltation consists in the continuation of the family unit in eternity. Those so inheriting are the sons and daughters of God, the members of his family, those who have made their callings and elections sure, They are joint-heirs with Christ to all that the Father hath, and they receive the fulness of the glory of the Father, becoming gods in their own right. (D. & C. 132; Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 2, pp. 58-99.)” Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 117.
[…] Jesus said There are No Marriages in Heaven […]
When your theology is all about sex, you need wives in heaven.
Too bad it’s not about Jesus. 🙁
Earthly marriage is a foreshadowing of our eternal marriage to Christ. All believers will be espoused to Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!!
Revelation 19:9 “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And He saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
