Godhood Status and the Holy Spirit

Encyclopedia of Joseph Smith Teachings, pg. 321; “But the Holy Ghost is yet a spiritual body and waiting to take to himself a body, as the Savior did or as God did or the gods before them took bodies; for the Savior says the work that my Father did do I also. . . . He took himself a body and then laid down his life that he might take it up again. (Joseph Smith, The Words of Joseph Smith, p. 382; standardized).”

Acts 5:3-4; “But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.”

Why does the Church teach that gods had a body before becoming a god? If the HS is a god then where’s his glorified body?

Why is he still in spiritual form after all these years? 

I thought everyone was begotten as spirits and then went to an earth to get themselves a body and then became gods…this is confusing!
