False Prophecies of Mormonism Joseph Smith “Crucified”

Women of Mormondom (Excerpts), pg 37; “Joseph Smith baptized with the Holy Ghost. But Sidney knew not that he was heralding Joseph.  And the prophet himself was but as the voice crying in the wilderness of the great dark world: “Prepare ye the way for the second advent of earth’s Lord.” His mission was also to “make straight in the desert a highway” for the God of Israel; for Israel was going up,—following the angel of the covenant, to the chambers of the mountains. He came with a great lamp and a great light in those days, dazzling to the eyes of the generation that “crucified” him in its blindness.” – Edward W. Tullidge

Mark 1:2-4; “As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.”

John 8:12; “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

Just a cursory glance over this excerpt tells us how members of the Church exalt Joseph to the level of a god.  First he brought the gospel to the earth. Next he’s the nineteenth century version of John the Baptist and then he’s the one who brings the light.

If Sidney was “heralding in” Joseph was he heralding in the earth’s Lord?

Jesus told the Pharisees that He is the light of the world so why are they claiming that Joseph “came with a great light”?

And why are they saying the world “crucified” Joseph? Was Joseph without sin? Of course not!

We all know the story of Joseph being gunned down in the Carthage jail while awaiting trial on a number of charges, but before he was killed he shot and killed two men.  Is this something Jesus would do?

To say they revere Joseph Smith would be an understatement and writings like this one today are case in point.
