2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
Once again we see Joseph’s true colors in his ‘attitude on politics’. He had no laws and answered to no one (or so he thought). Sadly, this wasn’t his attitude towards just politics – we see this behavioral problem of his with everything and everyone in life.
He had no respect for Emma – we see this in the multiple affairs and marriages he engaged in.
He had no respect for God – believing you can be a god is idolatry. Furthermore, teaching that God didn’t create the universe out of nothing is a lie. Teaching and believing Jesus wasn’t God in the flesh is a sign of the antichrist.
He had no respect for the body of Christ (Jesus’ bride) – he called Christianity the ‘whore of Babylon’.
He had no respect for authority – he engaged in banking schemes and ran from the law on multiple occasions.
He had no respect for other people’s spiritual welfare – he used seer stones which is nothing more than witchcraft. Thus, he tricked people into believing this type of hocus-pocus was okay with God when he looked for buried treasures.
He had no respect for other people’s property – he burned down the Nauvoo Expositor.
He had no respect for God’s infallible word – he rewrote the Bible and introduced a false gospel with the Book of Mormon, the Book of Moses and the Book of Abraham.
