Mormonism—The Leaven of the Earth

Gospel Truth, p 316; “The Spirit of God bears witness. The Spirit of God bears testimony to the things of God, and there would be no difficulty in convincing the inhabitants of the earth of the truth of the principles believed in by the Latter-day Saints were it not for tradition and the prejudices which exist in men’s minds in relation to the truth. . . .” – George Cannon

Joshua 1:8-9; “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

We’ve seen similar statements about Mormonism made by other Church authorities which totally blows my mind!

I know and understand you can use this word in other ways, but the way they use this time after time screams trouble.

To start off with – the Holy Spirit is the one that convinces people of God’s truth. Man uses flowery words and means of tricking people to believe in schemes they come up with.

Secondly, we’re repeatedly told in His word to hold tight to what was preached (1 Cor 15:1-4) and not to deter from it. We even see the wise counsel of Joshua who told the Israelites the very same thing!

Knowing what God says brings success and I’m not referring to the monetary kind. This is wise counsel for every aspect of life; marriage, kids, relationships at work, with neighbors, but most importantly with God!
