Living Prophet More Important for LDS

Liahona, “The Living Prophets,” April 2015; ““The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet. …

“… God’s revelation to Adam did not instruct Noah how to build the Ark. Noah needed his own revelation. Therefore, the most important prophet, so far as you and I are concerned, is the one living in our day and age to whom the Lord is currently revealing His will for us. Therefore, the most important reading we can do is any of the words of the prophet … contained each month in our Church magazines. Our marching orders for each six months are found in the general conference addresses, which are printed in the [Liahona]magazine. …“

“Beware of those who would pit the dead prophets against the living prophets, for the living prophets always take precedence.” – Ezra Taft Benson

Colossians 1:18; “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”

While leaders and everyday members of Mormonism spend precious waking hours squabbling over prideful positioning, the Bible has already revealed the identity of every believer’s leader. It’s Jesus Christ. No other name is needed and no other way is made available to us for salvation outside of Jesus. Acts 4:12.

Think of the time they’ve wasted glorifying themselves when it could’ve been better spent glorifying the Only Name that matters. In Christianity there’s no worries about who is and isn’t living. We already know Jesus died and was raised by God forever more! Praise His Holy Name!
