Liahona, “The Living Prophets,” April 2015; ““The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet. …
“… God’s revelation to Adam did not instruct Noah how to build the Ark. Noah needed his own revelation. Therefore, the most important prophet, so far as you and I are concerned, is the one living in our day and age to whom the Lord is currently revealing His will for us. Therefore, the most important reading we can do is any of the words of the prophet … contained each month in our Church magazines. Our marching orders for each six months are found in the general conference addresses, which are printed in the [Liahona]magazine. …“
“Beware of those who would pit the dead prophets against the living prophets, for the living prophets always take precedence.” – Ezra Taft Benson

Colossians 1:18; “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
While leaders and everyday members of Mormonism spend precious waking hours squabbling over prideful positioning, the Bible has already revealed the identity of every believer’s leader. It’s Jesus Christ. No other name is needed and no other way is made available to us for salvation outside of Jesus. Acts 4:12.
Think of the time they’ve wasted glorifying themselves when it could’ve been better spent glorifying the Only Name that matters. In Christianity there’s no worries about who is and isn’t living. We already know Jesus died and was raised by God forever more! Praise His Holy Name!
The sum of it all? There’s no permanence to Mormonism. Everything and everyone in leadership change. The Book of Mormon changes all the time. Everything is in flux. There is nothing dependable…
Compare that with Christianity, we have the Bible translated from the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Manuscripts have been found intact that are centuries old and which confirm the correct translation of scriptures. Nothing is changed from the basic meaning. It is a rock and base of Christianity to know that we have Jesus as our cornerstone. We build our faith on Him. No prophets exist today as John the Baptist was the last.
There is no need to have a continuing revelation today. We just check the Bible and see what it says. God’s Word doesn’t change. It is permanent and we can stand on it. It’s immovable no matter what happens in current events in the world today. When we’ve a problem, we search the Word of God and let scripture interpret scripture from other verses.
Mormonism is comparable to the man that built his house on sand. Christianity is comparable to the man who built his house on a rock.
Matthew 7:25-27King James Version (KJV)
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Matthew 7:25-27English Standard Version (ESV)
25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.
