Don’t Trifle with Prophet’s Words

Teachings of the Living Prophets, Chapter 2; “A good way to measure your standing with the Lord is to see how you feel about, and act upon, the inspired words of his earthly representative, the prophet-president. The inspired words of the president are not to be trifled with.” – President Ezra Taft Benson

John 6:40; “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Rather than putting your trust in the ‘arm of the flesh’, a much better way to measure your standing with the Lord is to trust Jesus’ words in the gospel of John!

The will of God is for the lost to be saved and know His Son Jesus. We see nothing in Mr. Benson’s teachings intimating this is what he’d want for the Mormon people.

The words of Mr. Benson amount to nothing but an empty threat. Who is he to say his words aren’t to be trifled with?

I’ve looked everywhere in the Bible for any resemblance of another prophet who’d dare say such things, and I’ve not found anything. If you have, let me know! How very sad these men would dare say such things!
