Witnessing Tip of the Day January 10

January 10 – Zephaniah 3:9; “For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.”

_____

A pure language…do you know what it means? A pure language is one that’s free of jealousy, free of conceit, and as Matthew Henry put it; ‘their language shall be purified from all profaneness, filthiness, and falsehood. I will turn them to a choice language (so some read it); they shall not speak rashly, but with caution and deliberation; they shall choose out their words.’.

Those who have answered His summons will meet in the body of believers and everyone shall have a new language because of the redeeming work of grace in our lives. It has nothing to do with made up words like those Joseph Smith came up with. The passage in Zephaniah puts our total focus on what He’s revealed about Himself, and not away from it with speculations or wild guesses.

Mormon Doctrine, p. 29; “ Ahman…See GOD, MAN OF HOLINESS, SON OF MAN. In the pure language spoken by Adam — and which will be spoken again during the millennial era (Zeph. 3:9) — the name of God the Father is Ahman, or possibly Ah Man, a name-title having a meaning identical with or at least very closely akin to Man of Holiness.”
