Witnessing Tip of the Day May 2

May 2 – Conversion. Romans 8:9; “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”

When you have an opportunity, explain to your Mormon friend what the word conversion means. Dictionary.com defines it as ‘a change in character’. Now that we know, what’s next?

The next step is asking ourselves; how do we get from point A to B? The Bible tells us!

Isaiah 55:7; “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”

I pray we understand a person is a Christian only when God’s Holy Spirit is dwelling in him or her, just as Paul told believers in Rome and Corinth 2,000 years ago. This can’t happen by serving others, or becoming a member of a specific church.

God’s Holy Spirit must reside inside a person first, and afterwards beloved, you’ll see how serving others is the manifestation of His Holy Spirit compelling someone to good works. 2 Corinthians 5:17; “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Both passages of scripture are a beautiful picture of what happens when someone is truly converted!
