Numbers 27:17; “Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd.”
2 Timothy 4:3-4; “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
Question:
If you believe, and trust your leaders like Mormons have been taught to do, would it ever be okay for one of the leaders to think, much less say, such a thing mentioned here?
Oh, how my heart grieves for the Mormon people! They’ve named universities, cities, and even their own children in honor of Brigham Young. His words don’t reflect someone who deeply cares for his flock. Jesus said a good shepherd gives His life for the flock.
John 10:11; “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”
Does it sound like Brigham would give his life for the Mormon people?
When the doors to the sheep pen are left open, they’ll wander out, and inviting wolves to come in and devour the herd. Why is this okay, and what grievous sin would constitute a hearty approval from their shepherd?
Is Mr. Young deserving of the accolades he’s received?
What kind of God would ‘suffer’ a prophet to do this? Wasn’t Joseph Smith God’s chosen vessel to usher in the last dispensation?
The Lord made an incredible promise in Ezekiel 34:16 which totally contradicts what Brigham had to say –
“I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.”
