Galatians 3:26-28; “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ.”
Years ago I would’ve pitched a major fit over statements like the one Mr. Kimball made. Today I see it as something coming out of the mouth of an unsaved soul.
From the beginning of time a patriarchal system has been the modus operandi in every culture. The way mankind in his sinful nature has twisted it to serve their own demented ways is another story altogether. No matter what it is in life, somebody has to be in charge, it’s just life. God enacted that everyone has a role to play, and each with its vital part makes the world go round as they say.
Unfortunately, mankind has taken the roles God assigned to each of us and has abused them in the most malicious of ways. If everyone’s in charge, nothing gets done. When people treat others like common chattel, the only accomplishment made is a grand display of disrespect for all humanity, not just the opposite sex.
Sadder still, is how a group of so-called Christians have chosen to treat women in the manner they have, and it’s still going on today. Mr. Kimball’s ideology wasn’t just an old relic of the past, it’s seen in the doctrines of Mormonism even today in the 21st century.
