Yes, the Lord reckoned the faith of Abraham as righteousness. There was also the promise to him of his seed being as many as the sand on the shore. However, nowhere in the Old Testament did God ever use the word ‘gospel’ to either Adam, or Abraham. The word gospel in Galatians 1:9 means ‘a good message’. In the Greek this is “euaggelion”. If Adam was preaching a gospel in his day, it wasn’t the gospel of Christ.

“The Gospel was among the children of men from the days of Adam until the coming of the Messiah; this Gospel of Christ is from the beginning to the end. Then why was the law of Moses given? In consequence of the disobedience of the Children of Israel…The Lord said to Moses; “I will give you a law which shall be a schoolmaster to bring them to Christ.” But this law is grievous; it is a law of carnal commandments”. Journal of Discourses 13:269, Brigham Young.
