Tip of the Day October 19 –– Does God have Goals?

October 19 –– Does God have Goals? Colossians 1:17 “And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

_____

Mr. Renlund chose to quote a bible verse in his talk for General Conference, Joshua 24:15. This is where Joshua tells the Israelites to choose the god they think is right. It’s obvious Mr. Renlund has chosen to worship a false god, much like that in biblical days when the Israelites did this repeatedly in the land of the Amorites. They were on again and off again, coming up with many reasons for their idolatry. So many gods, and the One True God couldn’t be found… Today we see this with Mormons. The god they worship isn’t from the Bible, for they’ve rejected him since the days of Joe Smith.

The God of the Bible is sovereign. There’s nothing He needs, but His desire is for us to follow Him as in the days of Joshua. Having the type of goals Mr. Renlund spoke of implies there’s something He’s lacking, and a chance of failure. Neither of those things constitute the God of the Bible! The goals Jesus has is to for us to see, and accept He alone was sent from God. Pastor John Piper gave a great sermon on this, so be sure to check it out! Explain to the Mormon you know how words their leaders use don’t match up with what the Bible says!
