Inherited Heavenly Mother Traits Prevent Vulgarity

Ensign, ‘A Champion of Youth’ November 1987 “Women are endowed with special traits and attributes that come trailing down through eternity from a divine mother. Young women have special God-given feelings about charity, love, and obedience. Coarseness and vulgarity are contrary to their natures. They have a modifying, softening influence on young men. Young women were not foreordained to do what priesthood holders do. Theirs is a sacred, God-given role, and the traits they received from heavenly mother are equally as important as those given to the young men.” — Vaughn J. Featherstone

Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned”.

Isaiah 43:6-7 “I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; 7  Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”

This is but one of the many times God declares He is the creator, and the only God there is.

Oh beloved, to believe there’s any other way man came into existence outside of what God has said is idolatry. There is no heavenly mother, and there are no inherited traits from such a thing.

Aside from all that, I am living proof Mr. Featherstone’s teaching is a lie. Before the Lord saved me from myself, I had a mouth that could make a sailor blush. It changed somewhat once I had children, but my overall demeanor was pretty much the same. After I accepted Jesus into my heart things changed, but residual effects of my past still lingered.

If that behavior trait wasn’t bad enough, I was also plagued with another horrible scenario. Each day when I woke up, the first thing that entered my brain was a word from the English language that I can’t, and won’t, repeat here. Without fail, it happened every morning, and it had been this way for years, and years.

One Sunday morning my pastor preached on how the Lord hears our prayers when we ask for help. My thought issues every morning quickly came to mind. I decided to ask Jesus to make it go away, and replace it with a hymn every morning when I woke.

It was the first time I realized God not only hears our prayers, but will give us what we need. I prayed that prayer on a Sunday evening, and the very next morning, I woke up to a hymn playing in my head!

This happened 27 years ago my friend, and it’s still the same. Every morning I awake to a different hymn, and it sets the tone for my day – no pun intended. Now, I don’t know how He does it, but I do know it happened.

As mentioned earlier, there are no other gods, so the idea we’ve inherited some pure trait from a heavenly mother is blasphemous. The only trait we’ve inherited is a sinful nature passed down from the day of Adam.
