Many of the doctrines from Mormonism sound eerily familiar to Christianity. Today happens to be one of the times that what they’ve taught sounds more like a garden variety opinion of someone who doesn’t know God’s word.
The problem is that it’s still a lie! No one can help us but God. When we decide to believe anything outside of this, we’re lying to ourselves, and others.
The LDS quote below qualifies as necromancy. Dead people can’t help anyone – Ecc. 9:5.

Ensign, “A Sure Trumpet Sound: Quotations from President Lee,” Feb. 1974, 78 “There are forces that work beyond our sight. Sometimes we think the whole job is up to us, forgetful that there are loved ones beyond our sight who are thinking about us and our children. We forget that we have a Heavenly Father and a Heavenly Mother who are even more concerned, probably, than our earthly father and mother, and that influences from beyond are constantly working to try to help us when we do all we can.”
