Lies Told to LDS Kids in Defining Restoration

New Era, ‘Take Part in the Ongoing Restoration’, p. 34, September 2020 “Sometimes we think of the Restoration of the gospel as something that is complete, already behind us—Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, he received priesthood keys, the Church was organized. In reality, the Restoration is an ongoing process; we are living in it right now. …

It includes “all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal,” and the “many great and important things” that “He will yet reveal” (Articles of Faith 1:9). … Let us be awake and not be weary of well-doing, for we “are laying the foundation of a great work” (Doctrine and Covenants 64:33), even preparing for the return of the Savior.

When we add the light of our example as a witness to the beauty and power of restored truth, we take part in the ongoing Restoration, bringing the blessings of the work of salvation to all who are willing to hear Him.” — Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Based on an April 2014 general conference address.

Ephesians 2:19-21 “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20  And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21  In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord”.

There are a number of problems in Mr. Uchtdorf’s lesson.

1.The foundation of the Church had already been established – see Ephesians reference above.

2.Dictionary.com defines restoration as “the act of restoring; renewal, revival, or reestablishment; restitution of something taken away or lost”.

3.By virtue of what the Church has done, they’ve disqualified themselves from being a ‘restoration’ church.

4.The original church didn’t operate the way Mormonism does today.

5.Lastly beloved, we have to wonder how the following info fits in with their agenda? Why have they lied to the most vulnerable, that being LDS kids.

“The great mistake made down through the ages by teachers of Christianity, is that they have supposed they could place their own private interpretation upon scriptures, allow their own personal convenience to become a controlling factor, and change the basis of Christian law and practice to suit themselves. This is apostacy. The Gospel can not possibly be changed…. the saving principles must ever be the same. They can never change…. the Gospel must always be the same in all of its parts…. no one can change the Gospel… if they attempt to do so, they only set up a man-made system which is not the Gospel, but is merely a reflection of their own views…. if we substitute ‘any other Gospel,’ there is no salvation in it…. the Lord and His Gospel remain the same–always.”

Ask the Mormon you know what they think of this!
