LDS: Man Fell Forward, Not Down

The Continuous Atonement “Adam and Eve’s fall wasn’t down, rather, as I have heard it expressed, they fell forward.” — Brad Wilcox, 2009

Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men”. [emp. added]

Galatians 5:4 “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.” [emp. added]

Mr. Wilcox lied.

When it comes to the topic of original sin or the fall of man, there is no such thing as falling forward.

The few scriptures listed above make it clear man inherited a sin nature from Adam’s actions. Until we admit we’re sinners and accept Jesus into our heart, we’re eternally separated from God. The obvious problem in Mormonism is their refusal to do so!

You can read a great article on this topic at Desiringgod.org. I highly encourage everyone, especially  all Mormons who visit our blog, to check it out!

As a sidenote, here’s how Dictionary.com defines ‘fall’ —

“to come or drop down suddenly to a lower position…whether voluntarily or not…to become less or lower; become of a lower level, degree, amount, quality, value, number, etc.; decline…”

Even with their definition it’d be mighty difficult to extrapolate the idea they fell forward…

Explain to the Mormon you know how devastating it was for man when Adam and Eve got booted out Eden. Not admitting you’re a sinner is a lie! 1 John 1:8 states —

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

With Love in Christ —
