The Continuous Atonement “Just as a man does not really desire food until he is hungry, so he does not desire the salvation of Christ until he knows why he needs Christ. No one adequately and properly knows why he needs Christ until he understands and accepts the doctrine of the Fall and its effects upon all mankind” —Brad Wilcox, 2009
Jeremiah 31:33 “But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
There are a multitude of problems in the quote from Mr. Wilcox’s book seen above. Like our post from yesterday we see how he wrote an entire book of lies.
The LDS Church doesn’t believe God’s perfect word has been translated correctly. That problem means they don’t believe man is inherently deprived as the Bible clearly demonstrates. As an example, there’s a wholesale rejection of verses like the three seen below.
Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”
Genesis 8:21 “…every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood….”
Ecclesiastes 9:3 “…the heart of the sons of men is full of evil…”
The entire reason for the Bible is to show God’s relationship with man whom He created, and how He’s always interacting with us. The verses above is a ‘Who’s Who’ of His word.
Psalm 51 written by King David, is known as one of the penitential psalms where he laid out his heart in repentance after his affair with Bathsheba.
Genesis 8 is about God’s interaction with Noah when he offered sacrifices to the Lord.
And then there’s King Solomon who declared that all men will eventually die, but evil men go straight to the dead.
Those three verses show how He’s the consummate provider who’s always patiently waiting. Through the greatest of mankind to the most obscure, He’s patient and He offers salvation but we have to believe what He’s said.
Mr. Wilcox can say all he wants about the need man has for a Redeemer, but until he/they personally accept the reason why, it’s a moot point. Ironically and most sadly, he fits the category of his subject matter.
We retrieved our reference from ldsquotations.com where there were numerous other quotes listed from his 2009 book, ‘The Continuous Atonement’.
Because his book is still widely distributed and he’s authored other books much like this one the Mormon people are buying into more lies.
Please, pray for those who read this man’s writings and for Jesus to save them!
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
