Jesus Alone Came Down from Heaven

January 11 –– Jesus Alone Came Down from Heaven. John 6:38 “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”                                                            _____

Foregoing the fact God Himself stepped out of heaven and dwelt amongst man, Mormons wouldn’t see this verse as anything special. The reason why is because they believe everyone came down from heaven, just like Jesus.

The results of believing in falsehoods like this enables a person’s spirit to become detached, and numb to monumental events like we see in John 6:38, or when Jesus was born of a virgin. As a result, it pulls them further away from God.

Also see John 3:13 and 1 Corinthians 15:45-47

“And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.”

“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.”

Encyclopedia of Mormonism, p. 1123 “Prior to mortal birth individuals existed as men and women in a spirit state and thus coexisted with both the Father and the Son. That period of life is also referred to as the first estate or pre-existence.”
