Nephi’s Brazen Plagiarism

 August 11 – How did Nephi know what Malachi wrote 200 years before Malachi’s birth? Malachi 4:1 “For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.”

Malachi wrote his letter c. 400 BC as a warning Israelites had fallen back into their old ways of worshiping other gods.

Ask the Mormon how Nephi wrote basically the same thing around 588 BC. The intro for 1^st Nephi chapter twenty-two gives the dates of when this supposedly happened. Also, what would this warning mean for the Nephites in 588 BC?
