Joseph Smith’s Lie Jesus Didn’t Create the Earth

December 8 — Joseph Smith’s Lie Jesus Didn’t Create the Earth. Psalm 102:25-27 “Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. 26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: 27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.”

John 1:3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

Today we’re looking at how God fulfilled another promise. In Psalm 102 the psalmist declared God created everything there is in heaven, and earth. Some believe it may have been King David who penned the prayer in vss. 25-27. The author of Hebrews reminded us of the prayer in Hebrews 1:10-12.

Even with all the numerous reminders of who created everything, Joseph Smith saw fit to deny God’s power. It’s much the same today in the theory of evolution. This passage of scripture is another example of what Mormonism has taught its members not to believe. This means they don’t know about God’s fulfilled promise, or the fact Jesus created everything out of nothing.

If He couldn’t create the earth, how could He know them intimately enough to save?

Joseph Smith – Seeker After Truth, Prophet of God, p. 158 “Here Joseph Smith again broke with existing false traditions. It had been taught that God created the earth out of nothing, by the fiat of his word. Instead, Joseph declared that the earth was made from existing materials. That is, the earth was organized rather than created. Latter-day Saints always speak of the “creation” of the earth in that sense.” — John A. Widstoe
