Who Is A Child Of God?

‘A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.’ Proverbs 18:7

March 24 – Who Is A Child Of God? Mormon Doctrine, p. 417 “Unless God the Father was a personal Being, he could not have begotten spirits in his image, and if there had been no self-existent spirit element, there would have been no substance from which those spirit bodies could have been organized.” – Bruce McConkie

Galatians 3:26 “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

John 1:12-13 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

There are countless biblical passages refuting the false doctrines of Mormon theology. The three we’ve listed above are quick examples showing how the LDS Church has built itself on the false prophecy of a 14 yr. old farm boy from upstate NY who’d been schooled in the world of witchcraft.

Mr. McConkie’s apology for the blasphemies of Smith came from a ‘revelation’ he had declaring man has no beginning. It’s still a predominate doctrine that drives the Church today.

D&C 93:29 “Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be.” — May 6, 1833

Contrary to Smith’s false prophecy the way someone becomes a child of God is through belief. The gospel of John is explicitly clear we don’t do this through blood, and Moses clearly declared God breathed life into Adam, making him a living person.

In light of all this, we have to wonder…

Just how does a resurrected mortal man and woman give birth to a spirit?

In a loving manner, ask the Mormon you know how this is done and use demonstrative evidence from God’s word to explain why Smith’s theory is wrong.

If you’re LDS please know that we pray for you every day. The scriptures are clear beloved and give no allowance for what’s taught in the Church. Another example is found in Paul’s letter to the church in Corinth –

1 Corinthians 15:44-47It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.”
