A priest after Melchizedek … of the Most High God … when we worship God do we refer to Him as the Most High God? Is He the Most High God in your heart?
What would you give Him?
There were many gods in and around the areas Abraham lived and traveled. The Chalcolithic Temple of En Gedi (or Ein Gedi) sat along the western shore of the Dead Sea about 23 miles south of Jerusalem.
Its temple housed many idol gods and served as a place of worship for the Amorites and numerous other nomadic tribes in the area.
After Abraham had defeated the kings and rescued his nephew 
Abraham traveled 1,000+ miles on foot from Ur to northern Mesopotamia and his attention never wavered. His focus was on obedience and worshiping the Most High God.
Roughly 2,100 years later, another High Priest would offer God everything He had. Jesus’ offering was once for all – praise His Holy Name!
Ask your Mormon friends if they know about these things, how Jesus fulfilled scripture and why they believe they hold the Melchizedek Priesthood.
How could they hold this priesthood if Jesus fulfilled it forever?
Also ask if Smith’s explanation of this office sounds biblical.

D&C 107:1-4 “There are, in the church, two priesthoods, namely, the Melchizedek and Aaronic, including the Levitical Priesthood. 2 Why the first is called the Melchizedek Priesthood is because Melchizedek was such a great high priest. 3 Before his day it was called the Holy Priesthood after the Order of the son of God. 4 But out of respect or reverence to the name of the Supreme Being, to avoid the too frequent repetition of his name, they, the church, in ancient days, called that priesthood after Melchizedek, or the Melchizedek Priesthood.”

Lastly beloved, share with your Mormon friend that you can’t use God’s name too much. We’re working on an article about the improper use of His name but using it in prayer either private or public is never wrong!
