Acts 10:34-35 “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.”

While we’ve looked at this particular quote by Brigham Young before there’s another angle to it that one of my daughters brought to my attention.
Because I’m considered an apostate now, she wanted to know why she and her sister aren’t black. My oldest was born with an olive complexion and black hair, but my youngest daughter is fair skinned and was born blonde.
Both my daughters have a firm belief in the Lord and know with assurance they aren’t going down to death so Mr. Young’s prophecy is nothing but an empty threat.
Furthermore, why did Brigham Young contradict himself if this was from God? The Church teaches that man “will be punished for his own sins and not Adam’s transgressions” – Articles of Faith #2.
Why would my “sin” affect their salvation?
If you’re an ex-Mormon or even inactive in the Church have your kids turned black?
If you’re LDS what are your thoughts on this?
