LDS Salvation Requires Perfection

March 9 — Ezekiel 28:2, 7 “Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God, 7 Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.”

Miracle of Forgiveness, p. 30 “In our journey toward eternal life, purity must be our constant aim. To walk and talk with God, to serve with God, to follow his example and become as a god, we must attain perfection.” — Spencer W. Kimball

Oh dear. Mr. Kimball was wrong on so many levels.

1.You can’t become a god.

2.You can’t be perfect w/out Jesus, and the Church doesn’t believe in the Jesus of the Bible. If you’re wondering about Matthew 5:48, it means to be complete in Christ, not to be perfect. The Greek word is teleios.

This man’s book was pulled by the Church because of its heresy and how Kimball’s main theme was to lay a guilt trip on the readers.

Please pray for Mormons to not seek perfection but know they’re complete in Christ when they believe in Him!

With Love in Christ —
