Baptisms for the Dead Necessary for Salvation

 Gospel Doctrine, p. 469 “Through our efforts in their behalf their chains of bondage will fall from them, and the darkness surrounding them will clear away, that light may shine upon them and they shall hear in the spirit world of the work that has been done for them by their children here, and will rejoice with you in your performance of these duties.—Oct. Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”.

Where is Jesus? What makes you think you are the one that can remove the chains of bondage? And what makes you think the “sacrifice” you’ve made by participating in an evil deed God condemns is good enough to bring a soul that’s already died into the loving arms of God?

Once again my heart grieves for the Mormons. They listen to their prophet’s lessons in their Sunday school classes and truly believe this is how things are without even thinking that they should open their Bibles and ask God what HE says.
