Mormon Dilemma 403

Mormon Dilemma 403 – October 12

God doesn’t Dwell in Hearts of Believers

D & C Section 130:3; “John 14:23—The appearing of the Father and the Son, in that verse, is a personal appearance; and the idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man’s heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false.”

John 14:23; “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

Sadly the Church has chosen one of the most beautiful and comforting verses in the Bible to denounce and degrade.

The English word abode means to tarry in the Greek.  Tarry…it means to remain or stay, to sojourn, linger or wait.

What in that meaning of this verse is false?

What sectarian teaching makes this verse false?

Who said so and where is the proof?

What part of the Greek translates this verse into a personal appearance?
