Measure of Accuracy
Acts 17:11; “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
“… [They] searched the scriptures daily”. That puts things into perspective for us wouldn’t you say? How else would we know the word of God?
The Church posted this notice in 1992 to relay to members and the world they believe in the word of God but not really. Making excuses there are no extant manuscripts of the Bible they’ve stuck their heads in the sand and refuse to look at evidence to prove the reliability of Scripture.
As Christians we can compare the Bible with other works of men but our standard of truth is the Bible itself. If or when we want to know more about a certain society mentioned in the Bible we have history books, news provided by outside sources that lived during the time, and many archaeological finds that can provide further insight about the people.
If there is no set standard from which to begin we have no guarantees our findings will testify truthfully.
