God’s Omniscience
Journal of Discourses 1:124; “Remember that God, our heavenly Father, was perhaps once a child, and mortal like we ourselves, and rose step by step in the scale of progress, in the school of advancement; has moved forward and overcome, until He has arrived at the point where He now is.” – Orson Hyde, Salt Lake City, October 6, 1853
Psalm 147:5; “Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.”
If you’re LDS which God or god do you believe in?
The God of the Bible is uncreated and has always been God. There never was a beginning or an end for God.
The Book of Mormon god was a “Great Spirit” and a triune type of god that kind of resembled the God of the Bible. As we saw earlier this week though, he isn’t the God of the Bible.
How can this god be everlasting and know everything yet at the same time had to grow in knowledge?
How will it be for you as a Mormon in heaven?
Will you know everything or grow into godhood? This was actually an article in the monthly magazine Liahona published by the Church and written for young adults. (July 2013)
The author wanted for his readers to imagine themselves as gods in heaven with forever families.
How are you going to know everything if you’re not already God?
