Church Issues Statement on Same Sex Court Ruling

Last week the Church decided to chime in and give their opinion on the gay marriage issue.  Here’s what they had to say;

20 December 2013

“The Church has been consistent in its support of traditional marriage while teaching that all people should be treated with respect. This ruling by a district court will work its way through the judicial process. We continue to believe that voters in Utah did the right thing by providing clear direction in the state constitution that marriage should be between a man and a woman and we are hopeful that this view will be validated by a higher court.”

We found it interesting they chose to say they’ve been consistent in support of traditional marriage between a man and a woman.  They’ve been consistent since May 1904 because the feds forced them to be so.  See D&C Official Declaration 1 We’re wondering how long it’s going to be before the prophet hears from their god that it’s okay to start practicing polygamy again in light of the Court’s ruling earlier this month on bigamy.

And isn’t it interesting they also pointed out they teach that all people should be treated with respect…hmmm…

It wasn’t all that long ago the feds forced their hand on this issue as well.  June 1978 was a game changer for Mormonism. No longer would they be an all white organization excluding some people from being treated with respect. See D&C Declaration 2.  Regrettably, their canon doesn’t reflect the mandatory changes made for publicity’s sake – Moses 7:8, 22 and virtually all the Book of Mormon.

Don’t be fooled my friends – Mormonism evolves with the whims of society and has never stood firm on the teachings of God.  We’re praying they make decisions based on what God says in His word and not what society deems morally acceptable at any given time.
