Mormon Dilemma 905 Protestants are Corrupt

History of the Church, 6:478; “The old Catholic church traditions are worth more than all you have said. Here is a principle of logic that most men have no more sense than to adopt. I will illustrate it by an old apple tree. Here jumps off a branch and says, I am the true tree, and you are corrupt. If the whole tree is corrupt, are not its branches corrupt? If the Catholic religion is a false religion, how can any true religion come out of it? If the Catholic Church is bad, how can any good thing come out of it?” – Joseph Smith

Matthew 7:17-18; “Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit”.

With Smith’s logic no one should be Christian. Protestant churches today are made up of those who forsook the traditions and beliefs of the Catholic Church and those protests began back in the 14^th century.

Their protests led to the truth from the Bible being told and embraced by untold millions since that time. Smith had such a hatred for Catholicism and Protestants that he allowed his hatred to blind him from truth. 

Furthermore, if what he said is true, Mormonism has to be corrupt as well. They claim they’re a restoration of Christianity.
