Matthew 15:17-18; “Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man”.
Where is your heart? I asked myself that question the other day when a thought went through my head that had no business being in my life as a Christian. Immediately, the Holy Spirit convicted me of my sin and in the middle of the day I was on my knees.
It isn’t what goes through our heads that is sinful. As we mature in the Lord we should see marked changes in our thought process, but that doesn’t mean we’re immune to the garbage that floats around in our heads.
What we should watch out for is where the projection of those thoughts land. Do they come off our lips or do we hold all thoughts captive to Christ as Paul told us to do in 2 Cor 10:5?
I can’t judge Brigham’s thoughts, no one but God can do that. However, as Christians we can determine whether the words of those in charge are godly or not.
As a Christian I truly hope Brigham made a confession of faith in Jesus before he died. I personally am saddened to hear of anyone who’s rejected the Lord and then passes on. Dogmatically stating you’re glad someone is dead doesn’t sound holy, for death is a result of sin in the world. Why would you state that you’re glad someone is dead and in hell?
