Mormon False Prophecy: Brigham Young Will Be US President

Journal of Discourses 5:219; “The Church and kingdom to which we belong will become the kingdom of our God and his Christ, and brother Brigham Young will become President of the United States. [Voices responded, “Amen.”] And I tell you he will be something more; but we do not now want to give him the name: but he is called and ordained to a far greater station than that, and he is foreordained to take that station, and he has got it; and I am Vice-President, and brother Wells is the Secretary of the Interior—yes, and of all the armies in the flesh.” – Heber C. Kimball, Delivered in the Bowery, Great Salt Lake City, September 6, 1857

Ezekiel 28:2; “Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God.”

Oh these men had some wild ideas eh?

Brigham never became the US President.

Brigham will never become ‘president’ of God’s Kingdom.

Neither will Kimball ever become VP, nor will Wells become the Secretary of the Interior. Why do they believe God’s Kingdom is structured after a model of the US government?

Most alarming is the first thing Mr. Kimball said.

‘The Church and kingdom…will become the kingdom of our God…’

Did he not realize how this works?

Members of the body of Christ (Christians) make up the population of those in the Kingdom of God, and the Kingdom already belongs to God, hence the name.

Sigh…
