The Mormon’s Attempt at Buying Off God

The Seer, p. 153; “God loves the children of men according to their works, or according to their good qualities He perceives in them: those who do the best he loves the best: if they do equally well, He loves them equally. Men should be exercised with the same principle…” – Orson Pratt, October 1853

Deuteronomy 10:17; “For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward”.

Reading the Mormon reference above brought memories of my grandfather to mind. Whenever I’d ask why he didn’t attend church with my grandmother he’d always say, ‘Shelly, this ain’t no dog and pony show’.

While not eloquent of speech, my pragmatic grandfather knew what was up with the Church. Sadly, Mormons today are still trying to live up to a manmade standard while refusing to open their Bibles telling them God can’t be bought off.

Pratt’s comment is much like the one we saw a few days ago with Russell Nelson who said the best of what God has to offer can only be experienced through performing ordinances in the temple. See Qualifying for God’s Love Requires Temple Attendance. It’s quite obvious the Church is still playing the same tune without producing any spiritual growth.

As you go throughout your day, please, don’t forget to pray for those who’ve bought into lies like these!

With Love in Christ;
