Witnessing Tip of the Day December 12

His chosen people. Zechariah 11:10-11a; “And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. 11 And it was broken in that day…”

Luke 19:41-44; “And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, 42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. 43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, 44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.”

Rejection causes God to remove protection … The word ‘people’ comes from the Hebrew ‘am’ which has a root meaning of ‘a unit’ or ‘tribe’. It’s understood this is in reference to Israel; God’s chosen people. Jesus proclaimed to the Israelites during this Passover that God had removed His protection from them and 40 years later Jerusalem was leveled. More than a million Jews were killed and survivors scattered to surrounding regions.

This, I’m afraid, is what will happen to the Mormons. At Jesus’ next appearance survivors will consist of those who believe in Him and tragically, the Church has rejected the Jesus of the Bible.

This is the Truth, pg. 67; “When you are baptized you are numbered among the chosen people of the Lord not because the Lord has chosen you but because you have chosen Him.”
