Witnessing Tip of the Day December 30

2014 city_of_david_eastGod’s promise fulfilled. Malachi 4:6; “And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

Luke 1:16-17; “And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. 17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

Forerunner would turn many to righteousness … The Father’s provision is always present and today we see this in two ways; Malachi’s promise and John the Baptist’s life in preaching Jesus. During this season of busyness let’s stop to praise and thank Him for His faithfulness! In life there are all types of fathers. There are good and bad fathers, just as there are good and bad prophets who lie about who the Father in Heaven really is.

Joe Smith was one of the bad prophets, and his message has turned the hearts of the children away from the Father in Heaven, just as his false gospel also destroyed many of the relationships between believers and their families. Pray today for those who could use encouragement to be a people who’s prepared for the Lord.

Ensign, ‘Joseph Smith Among the Prophets,’ July 1994; “To be sure, we worship the Father in the name of the Son; Christ our Lord is the way to the Father, and his is the only name under heaven whereby man can be saved. But, as we have seen, the dispensation head is the preeminent prophetic revealer of Christ. Thus, to bear witness of Joseph Smith is to bear witness of Jesus Christ, who sent him, in the same way that a testimony of Christ also implies clearly a testimony of the Eternal Father, who sent Him. On the other hand, to deny Joseph Smith outright—to deny the spiritual impressions which attest to his prophetic assignment—is to deny the Lord, who sent him. Jesus told his disciples that “he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me” (Luke 10:16; compare D&C 1:38D&C 84:36D&C 112:20).” – Robert Millet
