Witnessing Tip of the Day August 9 Problems Believing Other Gospels

August 9 – Problems of believing other gospels. Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

_____

This verse has brought comfort to millions (including myself)! It serves as a reminder other gospels come and go, but His word has stood the test of time. Look around, what other ‘gospel’ has proven true, is inspired of God, and has the power to convict the soul and spirit? Hebrews 4:12

There are a host of other problems with this Mormon verse. Here are a few questions we have you can ask the Mormon about.

One problem is found in the claim they were writing on plates of brass. The Israelites used papyri to write scripture, not brass.

Why was there only one copy, and why would Lehi want to deprive the Israelites of their scriptures by taking them away?

Scriptures were always kept in the temple which was heavily guarded 24/7, so where were the other guards?

Why would the only guard (Laban) go out and get drunk without having any concern over the records he was in charge of?

Why were the writings supposedly in ‘Reformed Egyptian’ when the Israelites only wrote in Hebrew? See 1 Nephi 3:19.

_____

1 Nephi 3:3 “For behold, Laban hath the record of the Jews and also a genealogy of my forefathers, and they are engraven upon plates of brass.”
