Tip of the Day November 25 — The Lamb on the Throne

November 25 — The Lamb on the Throne. Zechariah 2:10-13; “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD. 11 And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee. 12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again. 13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.”

Revelation 5:136:921:24; “And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever. 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held. 21:24  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.”

The Lamb on the Throne… What a wondrous sight that will be! Oh for a moment stop and think upon our precious, precious Jesus, being in the exalted position He so richly deserves. Praise God for His Son!

As a Mormon I never thought of Jesus as being on a throne like Zechariah and John spoke of in our bible verses today. I was always too busy trying to figure out how I could be perfect like my ‘elder brother’, and never wondered why He was perfect, or reasons why I’ll never be so. Dragging God in the flesh down to man’s level is never the way we’re supposed to worship or honor Him!

I always saw Him as my Aunt Lulu saw her older brother LeRoy, aka, Butch Cassidy. He was too distant of a figure in her life to know personally, living somewhere between the the towns he robbed, and folklore status. Jesus was too far away.

‘How can Jesus and Lucifer be spirit brothers when their characters and purposes are so utterly opposed?’

Jess L. Christensen, “I Have a Question,” Ensign, June 1986, 25–26; Jess L. Christensen, Institute of Religion director at Utah State University, Logan, Utah.

“On first hearing, the doctrine that Lucifer and our Lord, Jesus Christ, are brothers may seem surprising to some—especially to those unacquainted with latter-day revelations. But both the scriptures and the prophets affirm that Jesus Christ and Lucifer are indeed offspring of our Heavenly Father and, therefore, spirit brothers. Jesus Christ was with the Father from the beginning. Lucifer, too, was an angel “who was in authority in the presence of God,” a “son of the morning.” (See Isa. 14:12D&C 76:25–27.) Both Jesus and Lucifer were strong leaders with great knowledge and influence. But as the Firstborn of the Father, Jesus was Lucifer’s older brother. (See Col. 1:15; D&C 93:21.)”
