Luke 10:4 “Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.”
Back in Joe Smith’s day missionaries did go out to preach, and relied solely on the kindness of strangers.
Fast forward 100+ years we can see how the Church has changed things, and dramatically so.
Mormon missionaries today do rely on themselves for sustenance. Now while that’s not a problem, we’re wondering why the narrative in LDS canon still says to go out carrying no purse, nor scrip…
Are they still considered true disciples?
